 Here are some of my Sermon notes on the family today, which is under attack! The "State of the Family" today contains some staggering statistics; Here's a quick Snapshot of the Family in 2017 from a statistical standpoint:

__________________________

- 25% of Families today are "traditional" families in that it's Mom & Dad (the Original Mom & Dad) raising their kids (their own kids).  That is to say that ...

- 75%  of Families today are NOT traditional "Whole" or "white picket fence" families.

- 66% of our kids growing up today will spend some of their growing-up years in single-parent families

- 40% of kids are born outside of marriage.

- 27% of kids are raised in fatherless homes.

- Infertility rates for couples in 1984 was 5%;  Now in 2017 it's 16%.  (That's 1 in 5 families who can't have children).

Fathers ...you need to be the pastor of your family !

Dueteronomy 6 says:  (This is the passage Jewish people call the Shi'ma:)

Shema Yisrael (or Sh'ma Yisrael; Hebrew: שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל‎;
Meaning: "Hear, [O] Israel"
...are the first two words of a section of the Torah (we know this as Deuteronomy 6), and is the title, (better known as The Shema) of a prayer that serves as a centerpiece of the morning and evening Jewish prayer services.

4Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.a 5Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.~ Deuteronomy 6
